****Happy Birthday Marissa****
Today our baby girl turned 1!!! I can not believe it.....it just seems like yesterday that we brought her home from the hospital and than today she is one and walking all over the place.
Yesterday was her birthday party. We had a great time and she even showed everyone that she could walk!! We had a great turn out with our family and friends. Marissa got alot of great gifts & outfits. We are still trying to figure out where to put all her toys. We actually went out to try and find a toy chest but ran out of time.
Today Josh and I were both off from work to spend her "true" birthday with her. We took her to CoCo Key indoor waterpark. She had a BLAST!!!! She did not mind one bit with the other children splashed her in the face, she just kept of moving. By the time we left she was all wrinkly and blue, when we picked her up to leave she started kicking her legs and screaming because she did not want to leave. She loves the water!!!
We had some friends over this evening for cake and ice cream. So this girl has been pretty busy with all the parties!! Still hard to believe that she is 1!

Marissa took her first steps!! YAY!!!
Friday I was off from work because Marissa had pink eye (not sure where that came from). So while we were playing at home she would be crawling and all of a sudden stand straight up. I was pretty shocked because usually she needs something to pull herself up with. But she was doing this with no assistance.
So Saturday, we were working with her trying to walk. So I was walking with her and just let her go and off she went!!! She took a couple of steps and would fall down. So she did that over and over again, so she is getting pretty good. She looks so funny, she is so off balance. When she falls down we say "YAY" and she starts clapping her hands. You can just see how proud she is of her self when she is walking.
This Sunday is her birthday party. We have a couple more things that we need to get, than we will be ready to PARTY!!!!

Not I or Me,but Offically "Mommy"
On a typical morning I take Marissa to the sitters and listen to my morning show on the radio. Today I changed it up alittle. We listed to Marissa's "Mickey Mouse ClubHouse" CD and while I was driving she was sitting in her carseat just saying, "mommy" over and over again. Right there I realized that it is not about me anymore and for some reason I really felt like a mom. No more morning show (until I drop her off), baby in the carseat saying my name and me singing along with Mickey Mouse. I must admit I LOVE being a mom!!!

Bye, Bye, Baby!!!
I had to post these picture of Marissa that I took today. Josh picked her up from the sitters and when they came home this is how her hair looked!! I must admit, she is pretty darn cute :-) The sitter said that Marissa kept rubbing her eyes because her hair was getting in her way. It added the picture at the end of the night were I took the rubber bands out and her hair was crazy!!
With her hair in pigtails she does not look like our little baby! And for some reason tonight she was not acting like it either. She was really testing the boundaries, like what she can touch and what she can not. It seems like every night around 7:30-8:00 this is when she will start testing us, seeing how far she can get away with things. She is such a stinker!!!!!
She is now saying, "Mommy & Daddy" and getting good at matching who they belong to. Over the weekend we were having lunch and she was sitting in her highchair and for about 5 mins. straight she kept saying, "Mommy, mommy, mommy" over and over again. It was really cute.
We have taught her the sign for "more". So when she wants more or anything she will use sign language. She kinda made up her own sign.....but she knows what it means and it is close enough. She will open her one hand and with the other hand she will point to the open hand. I attached a picture of that also.
We have been pretty busy with work, planning her party and we are planning a vacation to Florida. So the Webers are BUSY!!!
