My new kicks!

I have been wanting a new pair of warm & fuzzy boot, but just could not find a pair that I liked. Josh asked me if I would like a pair of Ugg Boots....WHAT??? What girl would not love to have a pair of Ugg boots, in my eyes those are the boots of all boots. But anyone who knows me, knows that I HATE spending alot of money on something, and as we all know Ugg boots are NOT cheap!

About once a week Josh would bring up the subject about the boots and I would tell him that they are great but I can not go around knowing that I have these boots on my feet and there are people out there who are struggling for the basics.

Well he and his mother surprised me with a pair of black sweater Ugg boots!!!!!!!!! I do admit that they are like walking on cotton and look so great but I am still trying to get back the sticker shock! I just can not believe that I have a pair of Ugg boots...I am not a fancy girl, but now I feel the need to buy a whole new outfit to go with my boots!

We survived Christmas!

We hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas! I know that the Weber girls did!!! Our agency closed for the week so I was able to stay home with the girls and prep for the big holiday!!!!

Christmas morning was uneventful, we thought that M was going to go nuts because we bought her a Mickey Mouse blow-up ball pit and where so excited for her to see it. Josh had to wake her up and carry her downstairs, than she did not want to open her presents. Once she did get started she wanted Josh to open every box so that she could play with the toys and than finally she was into opening the gifts but wanted to open them in the ball pit. She opened her last gift on Saturday ~ not because she had so many gifts but because she did not want to open them.

A had a great first Christmas! She stayed awake while M and she (with some assistance) opened their gifts than both girls went down for a nap and when they woke they opened their stockings!!!

The girls had matching P.J's which we plan on doing every year, so I am sure that they will appreciate it when they are in their teens and I am waiting to take a picture of them together :-)

We had our last Christmas day, the day after Christmas. So now we are DONE....bags of trash in the garage, boxes everywhere, toys everywhere. My next purchase needs to be a toy box for M's room. The scary thing is that her 2nd birthday is in 2 months and that means.......MORE TOYS!!!!!!!

But as we were running around, tearing into presents, snapping away with the camera ~ we still sit back and remember how blessed we are!

No we are not twins!!!

My cousin got the girls these 2 matching warm & fuzzy fleece outfits. I told myself that I would NOT have them wear them at the same time....well we were going to a friends Christmas party and I thought it would be a perfect time to break them out together! They looked so cute!!! I know that they are not twins and this is the first time that I dressed them the same....but I could not resist.

One Happy Baby :-)

Helping a friend

A friend of mine sent me an e-mailing asking for help! She and her husband are interested in adopting for a second time. Below is some information regarding her family, if you need anymore information please let me know and I can put you in contact with the family. They are working with a local attorney here in town so they are "paper ready". Thanks everyone!!!!!

Please spread the word that we are hoping to adopt again!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Everyone, Can you please do us a HUGE favor and forward this email to everyone in your address book? We would like to spread the word to as many people as possible that we want to provide a loving, stable, Christian home to a baby. If you know of anyone who has made the difficult choice to place their baby(s) for adoption, please let them know about us. We are very excited about adding to our family! Thank you so very much for your help!

Sincerely, Ashley John and Janell Parker (and future big brother, Corey)

A higher power does have their hand in it!!!

When Josh and I thought about starting a ,we never thought that we would encounter roadblocks. Well after many years of unsuccessful tries and different treatments we both agreed that adoption was the route for us. When we were going thru all those difficult times we wondered why we were not able to have our own biological children ~ than we had the feeling that the reason was because we were MENT to adopt!!!!

After going thru all the adoption process and the highs and lows, I have started believing that their is a high power that has their hand in shaping our lives! We sit back and think how our spunky, ornery, silly, smart M just fell into our laps when our world and hearts where shattered when the first adoption fell thru. Once we were placed with her everyone would say how much she looks like Josh....which she really does. And than with A...we waited until M was over a year and than put an e-mail out just letting our family and friends know that we were interested in adopting again (think that we could not be so lucky to find another BM on our own) and a couple weeks later we get a call from my aunt about a situation. And beautiful, precious little A and her BM just fell, once again into our laps.

I truly believe that God is making those special babies out there for all these wonderful couples who are still waiting for their little miracles. People told us that after the first failed adoption and we did not want to hear it, but it is true!

We have many friends who have adopted and their children look just like them ~ freckles, red hair, exact nose, same eye color, same likes and dislikes, same personalities ~ you can not tell me that God does not have his hand in it!!!!

M & A where the 2 puzzle pieces that were missing from Josh and I. They just fit right into our little family and our extended family, we see little bits and pieces of us in their little personalities even though I did not give birth to them.

For all those couples out their who are waiting, I know how you are feeling. But please be patient and God will place your little blessing in your arms when you least expect it.

Christmas Miracle!!!!

Going down the adoption road ~ we have been blessed to have had the opportunity to meet some wonderful couples. Each one that we meet has a special place in our hearts. One awesome couple just got their Christmas miracle a couple of days ago. Jessica and her husband Jud where placed with a beautiful little baby girl (who resembles them) and we could not be more happier for them!!!!! Little Mira is a lucky girl to have such great parents and family! Welcome to the world Mira Eliza!!!!

Christmas Memories as a Child

We all have those memories from the holidays when we were younger that we will always cherish. Well one memory that I wanted to pass along to my children is something that my mother made for me and my brother and all the cousins in the family.

My mom was really crafty (well she still is) and she was always making things ~ baby doll outfits, halloween costumes and these awesome sucker holders.

As we got older the sucker holders kinda made their way to the back of the closet and never came out, but when we were younger I remember using the holder as a count down till Christmas. Each day you remove a sucker until you get to the very bottom and once you do the bell rings and Christmas is here!!!!

What a good thing to pass along to my daughters and me being able to tell them my memory of the sucker holders.

Thanks mom for making such a lasting memory in my head with these awesome, memorable sucker holders!!!!!

I've come to realize.......

I have come to realize that my house will never be clean and the kitchen counter may never be seen until midnight.

I have come to realize that using paper plates and cups are better than washing dishes because who has time for that.

I have come to realize that I may step on a little toy or in the middle of the night here a scary little voice coming from the toy box.

I have come to realize that almost everyday after dinner I need to scrub down the kitchen walls because when Marissa is done, she is literally done, plate goes flying.

I have come to realize that I may not get a shower everyday, or may not get one until late at night.

I have come to realize that eating is the last thing on my list...will I eat breakfast today?? lunch?? or just dinner.

I have come to realize that watching adult TV is never really going to happen again.

But what I do realize is that Josh and I are so blessed to have 2 little, healthy, beautiful girls in our lives. When we see their smiles or the laughter coming from one....we know how lucky we are and those other things do not matter.

Why Mommy?????

This morning M woke up and we headed downstairs for some breakfast ~ she requested Bologna and "yogoat" (yogurt). As she was eating I gave her a cup of milk. As I opened the fridge to get myself something to drink she spots the apple juice.

"Juice mommy"..I tell her "no" because she already has milk and than I hear "Why mommy???".....WHAT did my 20 month old just ask me why she could not have juice??? She just amazes us everyday!

Ernie go potty????

M has a stuffed Ernie that she keeps in the car and every once in a while she will ask for Ernie. Well today as I was taking her to the sitters she asked for Ernie. I reached back and handed him to her. As I was driving this is what I hear,"Ernie poop?? Ernie Poop?? Potty Ernie?? Elmo potty Ernie."

She was given the Elmo Potty DVD and only watched it once and not all the way thru! Thought that it was cute that she was telling Ernie that he needs to go on the potty!

Life as a family of 4

Well alot has gone on since the last time that I posted! We are living now as a family of 4 and it is just perfect. We can not imagine our lives without little A, she just fits right in.

She has been a great baby ~ pretty much the same as M when she was a newborn. She likes being held and that is pretty much the only way that she will sleep, she LOVES to eat (really loves) and she is content just laying around and taking everything in. She is getting up in the night about every 2-3 hours to eat and than on good nights she goes right back to sleep!

M is taking on the "Big Sister" role like champ! She loves her baby. She wants to know where she is at all time and wants to help mommy and daddy with helping A. She enjoys shaking the bottles, throwing away the dirty diapers and telling baby to "SHHHHHHH" when she is upset. Her favorite thing right now is when A is in her carrier, M likes to go over and say, "rocka baby" and rock the carrier. Every night before bed time M will tell everyone goodnight and she loves them, but she has to come over and give A a kiss!!! Just melts my heart everytime! She is such a great little girl and just growing up so fast :-(

We are enjoying the great fall weather ~ going to the park, pumpkin picking and yesterday we all went to the Columbus Zoo for Boo at the Zoo. M had a GREAT time and A slept the whole time.

We have been really busy, but are taking it all in and just can not believe how blessed we are to have 2 beautiful and healthy little girls. We just hope that all the couples out there still waiting for their little bundles of joy thru adoption ~ that it happens soon for them! Everyone needs to experience the love of a child and hear the laughs of a child in your own home!

We love you A and "T" you will always have a special place in our hearts!

One more week????

Today was another doctors appointment with our BM. She was in a great mood ~ all smiles! She said that she has not worked all week, because numbers has been low, so I think that she has gotten some MUCH needed rest!

The appointment went really well!!! The doctor said that things are moving right along and if she makes it to her next appointment (which is next Friday) he will do an ultrasound to see how big the baby is going to be and talk about what he is going to do in regards to inducing her.

So please continue keeping her in your thoughts! And I will keep you posted!

Let the count down BEGIN!

Okay, so Friday before we left for our trip we went to our birthmothers doctors appointment. She is looking great and said just right now she is REALLY tired and just crashes when she gets home from work. Poor girl!

But the appointment went REALLY well. The doctor said that she is dilated (but did not say how much) and he thinks that she is going to go before her due date which is October 5th!!!!

We all kinda thought that she was going to go early, but to hear the doctor say that, makes us have to get our little butts in gear and get things ready to bring a baby home! We have everything, just need to get it all organized and put together (poor Josh!).

Her next appointment is this Friday and I am anxious to see if she has made anymore progress......this week is finals for her, so we are hoping that this sweet baby girl does not decided to make her grand arrival and will wait for one more week so she can get her tests done!

Please continue keeping her in your thoughts! I will update again on Friday!

A much needed quick get-a-way!

We went down to TN for Labor Day weekened and visited with my cousin and her family. We had a great time, like we always do. We love to just get away and not worry about anything...work, dogs (they were well taken care of), and everything else that is going on that is crazy in our lifes!

Before we left on Friday our awesome neighbors allowed us to borrow their DVD player for the car...M was in Nemo Heaven ~ as soon as it was over and had to watch it again, but hey, it made that 7 hour drive so smooth that sometimes we did not even realize that she was in the car.

While we were down there M got to ride her FIRST roller coaster SOLO! We both were nervous at first because we did not think that she would sit, but she did. She had a great time!!!!

I attached the pictures of M on the 3 different roller coasters ~ first was the pigs, second bumble bees and than last was the ducks!!

Marissa's Day

Today was the 1 year anniversary of the finalization of M's adoption ~ hard to believe this time last year, we were answering the judges question, "why do we think that adopting M was in her best interest"...gosh, where did the year go?

My mom and mother-in-law came out to spend the special day with us. We were trying to think of something that M would love to do, since this was "her day".

We went up to Polaris, ate lunch and took M over to the mall where she played at "the zoo" ~ it is a soft indoor play area for children. She loved it, running around like a wild women.

Afterwards we all went to Easton and she got to build a dog at Build-A-Bear, that was lots uf fun. We invited our Pataskala family over for ice cream and cake when we got home.

We all had a great time and I think that M did as well. We are wrapping up the night watching.................."Finding Nemo"!!!

We love you baby girl!!!

Our little monkey!!!

Fish, Fish, Fish, Fish!!!

Move over Mickey Mouse, because M has a new love! Marissa LOVES the movie "Finding Nemo". She has gotten pretty good at requesting the movie; as soon as she wakes up, on the way to the sitters in the morning, on the way back home, after dinner and before bed.

The movie is a really cute one, but you know that you have watched it way to many times when you are quoting the movie while you are doing things around the house!!

October...are you here yet!!!!

This evening we had our second meeting/dinner with our birthmother. We decided to leave M with my aunt this time around, so that we could have a nice dinner with out any interruptions. Once again the dinner was great, it was more a "get to know you more" dinner, we talked about family, work, dogs, and adoption.

I think that we were able to answer all her questions and she did the same for us, overall it was GREAT!!! So now we are keeping everything crossed and looking forward to October.

As we were leaving, I walked over and gave her a hug and thanked her again for meeting us and Josh said "thanks" also and she walked over and gave him a hug..AWWWW!! She is such a great person.

I will continue to keep you all posted and we are going to be going to her next doctors appointment on August 7th...YAY!!!!

M's New Ride!!

This past weekend was our community yard sale. We decided to go around the house and find things to sell....we did pretty well until noon than it started to rain and did not let up. But we were happy that we sold as much stuff as we did in the few hours that we were out.

While Josh was working hard at our yard sale, I decided to go around and see what other neighbors are selling...and I came across this awesome push car (I think that it looks like a rocket) and had to buy it for M ~ well this has been the best $2.00 that I have EVER spent. She totally loves it and we are able now to get a complete walk in around the neighborhood without her wanting to jump out and walk!!!

Update regarding the adoption ~ I have been e-mailing back and forth with our BM (birthmother) and we are planning another dinner this Sunday. So please continue keeping us in your thoughts!!!!

I hope that you all are having a great summer so far :-)

Shout Out!!!

I wanted to take this time to let some of my friends out there know that they are in my thoughts :-) I wanted to give a "shout out" to the Lamberts......they were blessed with a baby boy thru adoption 3 months ago and are enjoying every minute of it. Steve has been juggling alot...he is going to school, working, being a great husband and the perfect daddy...second is a couple who I met thru adoption ~ The Whites. They just finished their homestudy paperwork and are getting ready to get on the adoption roller coaster, I wish them nothing but the best and know that their blessing is out there and when it is the right time he/she will be placed in their arms...third is a GREAT women who once again I met thru adoption. She already has 2 beautiful children thru adoption and her and her partner are getting ready to jump in again and are ready to expand their family and last is a great friend of mine who has been juggling alot of things for some time now. She is going to school, being a mother, a partner and thinking about going out into the work force again. I hope that you all know that I will keep you in my thoughts and hopefully everyone else who reads this will do the same. The best of luck to all of you :-)

Can this be happening again???

Lastnight we had dinner with the BM that I have spoken about in previous posts. At dinner it was us 3, our social worker, the BM and my aunt. We had a great dinner and talked about everything. We talked about how open we all wanted this adoption to be, what was going to happen at the hospital and even the possibility of going to doctors visits with the BM.

The BM is a very sweet and shy lady. But she was very easy to talk too! After the dinner as we were walking to our cars, she said that she brought the ultrasounds pictures and wanted to share them with us. She pointed out her favorites ~ one where the baby is sucking her thumb and has her other hand up against her head, and than after we were done looking at them she handed them over to us. WOW!!! We did not expect that! But we are very greatful that she did.

We exchanged phone numbers and e-mail addresses, so we will see where this relationship goes! I will continue to keep everyone posted!

Rice-a-Roni the San Francisco treat!!!!!!

Can we be blessed again?????

We got the e-mail from our social worker letting us know that the BM wants to meet us Thursday evening. We are really looking forward to this meeting and putting a face to this amazing women! We are just filled with so many different emotions right now.....I will keep everyone posted as we go on this journey :-)

The deck is FINALLY DONE!!

Josh has been working soooooooo hard on the deck and it is finally done! Everynight we have been sitting out and just enjoying the night. We are both just so happy that it is done. Josh and his helpers all did such a great job!!!!

Summer F-U-N!!!!

Well I think that it is officially summer!!!!!!!!!! It is beastly hot outside...but we have been outside everyday taking in the sun and having a great time. Our evening routine is coming home from work, making and eating dinner and than as soon as we are done M still in her high chair says, "I wanna go outside!". So off we go!!!!!!! I think if she was able to live outside she would be in heaven!!!

I am leaving tomorrow for CA........I am sad and excited! I am going to miss Josh and M like crazy, but really looking forward going to the west coast! I will post some pics. once I return.

News on the adoption front ~ our social worker met with a BM last Wednesday and things went pretty well, she wanted to meet us this Wednesday but unfortunately I am going to be out of town, so we are waiting on our social worker to let us know when the BM wants to meet. SO please continue keeping your fingers crossed and saying alittle prayer for us.

Busy, Busy, Busy

The Weber household has been busy, busy! Josh has been hard at work putting a deck on our house. This evening they are going to start working on the handrails, so it is starting to look more like a deck. I will be posting some pictures soon, so everyone can see how the progress is going.

I have been really busy at work. The children have been out of school for 2 weeks and they will return in September, but now we are working on enrollment for the 09-10 school year and we are also working on a special assignment (adding more kids to my caseload).

The one positive thing about work right now is that I was chosen to go to CA for a week of trainings. I am really looking forward to it!!!!! I have never been to CA or that far across country. The downfall is that I will miss Josh and Marissa, bunches! Josh will be playing the role of Mr. Mom for a week :-)

On the adoption front, we have had 3 possible situations. We heard about these BM from different friends, the one BM decided that she is going to parent and the other BM moved out of state. And we are still waiting to get information regarding the other BM. But in the meantime we are enjoying the time that we are having with M and know when God thinks that we are ready for another baby, we will be blessed again! Please continue keeping us in your thoughts and spreading the word that we want to adopt!!!!!

WOW...where has the time gone????

Our sweet little angel

Our family picture taken on the beach ~ this picture is going to be in Adoptive Family Magazine!!!

All of us at Disney meeting Mickey and Minnie

M with sand all over her face!
When I first started "blogging" I told myself that I would post something weekly, and I have to admit in the beginning I was really ontop of it.....well things have changed!!! I barely have time at night to get ready for bed!!!

Okay where do I start???? We took a much needed vacation to Clearwater, Florida with my cousin and her husband. We all had a GREAT time!!!! M totally loved the beach, I think it was because she could run free and be in the water when she wanted and back out....on her own. She did not mind the sand one bit. The first day that we were there we went out on the beach and she picked up a big handful of sand and put it in her mouth and rubbed it in her eyes....and she did not care!!! She is such a silly little girl :-)

While we where there we took a trip to Disney World, it was my cousins b-day so she get in free. M had a good time, we got to see Mickey and Minnie Mouse. She was fine while they were a couple of feet away from her, but as I moved her closer and they started hugging and kissing her, she was not so sure. She did not cry, but did not look to happy, alittle scare ;-)

But since we have been back, we have been buys, busy, busy!!!! With the nice weather, every night Marissa wants to play outside, so that have become our routine. Come home from work, eat dinner, clean up, outside to play and than back in to get ready for bed.

But we enjoy every moment of it!!! She is getting soooo big and is not our little baby anymore :-( She is a little person!

Something new happening with us, is that we updated our homestudy and are wanting to adopt again. We are telling everyone that we know that we want to adopt and are just waiting. In the adoption world you get pretty good at waiting!!! We are not signing on with an agency just trying to find a BM. So please keep your fingers and toes crossed for us.

Well I am tired.....I promise to update more often!!

Congratulations.....Steve & Leslie!!!!

When Josh and I were going through Adoption Circle's O&E, we met a really great couple from Ohio. Since then we have became pretty good friends, as they were waiting for their precious gift to arrive. Well their gift did arrive after a very long wait. Their birthmother gave birth to a beautiful baby boy this past week and they brought him home yesterday and named him Matthew (we were hoping for Josh) :). We can not express enough how happy we are for them!!! Their dream finally came true!!!!!

Chuck ~ our foster dog!!!

I wanted to post a picture of Chuck, our foster dog from the Franklin County Animal Shelter. If you know a a family who is looking for a dog, that does not live in an apartment and has a fenced in yard , than Chuck is the dog for them. He is a very sweet boy. He is 6 months old and weighs 35 pounds, but could stand to put some more meat on his bones.

Marissa's 1st Swing Set....

Josh starting the project

M helping Josh pick out the tools

M going through the tunnel

M and Josh testing out the new swing

The finished project

I wanted to post the pictures of M's 1st swing set. My mom bought it for her at Christmas and this weekend was so nice we want to get it out. For some reason I did not think that it had to be put together......yeah I was wrong. Josh spent some time and got it together for M. She loves it!!!! She likes going down the slide on her belly, she is such a little dare devil!

Pretty White Teeth :-)

Marissa brushing her teeth for the first time. She loved it!!!

Luke turns "5"!!!!!

I wanted to post a couple of pictures that I took of Luke. Yesterday was his birthday and he turned "5". Sometimes he acts like an old man, but than other times he gets all playful ~ which does not last long. But I do not mind, he is the dog who likes to lounge on the couch and snuggle :-)

My cousin was at Marissa's b-day party and took some gret pictures. I attached an awesome family picture that she took of us 3 outside!
