Who's Adopted?!?!?!?

With M getting older, we started talking to her about Adoption. I know that she really does not understand what the word really means, but we wanted to start having her get used to the word.

We have quiet a few books talking about adoption and we have been reading those to her almost every night, but we allow her to choose the book and sometimes it is about adoption and sometimes it is not. We also have a picture of her birthmother on her dresser in a nice white frame and we have been talking to her about who this person is.

Since adoption is starting to be a more familiar word in our family we ask M..."who is adopted?" and she proudly says, "A" and we say, "who else?" and she says, "M, Luke & Roscoe". For those of you who do not know...Luke and Roscoe are our labradors!

Helping out a friend!

My dreams came true!

Before I had children...people would always ask if I or we wanted them. I would always say that my dream would look like this: a child chasing the dogs around the house....house filled with laughter, art work hanging on the fridge and hearing these words..."look I colored the dog!". Well today the last part of my dream came true, not alot of coloring on the dog (the green mark on his leg), but enough!!! I love being a MOMMY!!!!

Can you find the baby!?!?!?!?!

I had to take this picture, just to show everyone how much of a mess a 2 year old can do on their own. As Josh and I were looking around, trying to figure out what to pick up first we made this comment to one another..."this is scary because she still has 2 full toy boxes that she did not even touch!!"

Self-Portrait

A's BIG day!!!

A is offically a WEBER!!!! YAY!!! We had a wonderful day! Leading up to the big day was very stressful ~ we were getting calls saying that it was not going to be final on Monday and than we would get another call saying that we were going to go and just testify. So after many calls to our attorney, she reassured us that it would go through, so we trusted her and she was right....everything was perfect!

After the hearing we went to Franklin Park to take some pictures and than we all headed to Olive Garden for lunch. We were so honored that A's birthmother and her good friend joined us. It was so wonderful that all our family members got to meet her and finally put a face to the name.

We all went back to our house to have cake and ice cream and a little celebration!!!! Our families were able to talk and chat with "T" and learn more about her and her daughters.

It was an amazing day and we are so happy to have been able to share the special day with our parents and "T" and her friend.

Am I really saying this???

Life with a toddler if full of excitement, frustration, joy, love and laughter! At times I hear myself saying things to M and I stop and think...."am I really saying this?". So I wanted to jot down some of the things that I have been saying to her....here we go!

1) "Please do not run the cheese stick across the window!"

2) "Ewwwww.....do not pee in the tub water and than drink it!"

3) "Do not poop in the tub, we poop in the potty"

4) "Gross....do not lick my face!"

5) "What kind of fruit snacks do you want on the ride to the sitters (breakfast)??"

6) "Please do not lay ontop of your sister"

7) "I can't look at you right now because mommy is driving" M's response, "so you do not caaassshhh (crash)??"

I am sure that there are other one's but my mind is drawing a blank. We just are loving life with M and never know what she is going to say next!!!
