Babies Don't Keep :-(
Since A has been born almost every single night I would rock her to sleep in her room. Every night passing out the kisses and headed to a dark cozy room, soft music going and a blue little teddy bear nightlight lighting up the room. I would hold my baby, rocking her to sleep, all my worries would leave my mind as I walked through her door.
But my baby is no longer taking a bottle, which means I have had a couple of night were I have been able to rock her to sleep, just holding her in my arms...back & forth, back & forth and off to sleep she would go.
The past week, this "baby" has not wanted me to rock her...she squirms all over the place, arching her back and wiggling out of my lap. So I just gently lay her in her bed, cover her up and off to sleep she goes.
The rocker is open.....now for teddy bears & stuffed animals. Will I get to rock another baby to sleep in this cozy rocker...only time will tell. Who knows what is in our future.
But I leave you with this precious poem that I found, about babies not staying babies :-(
Babies Don’t Keep
by Ruth Hulburt Hamilton
Mother, O Mother, come shake out your cloth,
Empty the dustpan, poison the moth,
Hang out the washing, make up the bed,
Sew on a button and butter the bread.
Where is the mother whose house is so shocking?
She’s up in the nursery, blissfully rocking.
Oh, I’ve grown as shiftless as Little Boy Blue,
Lullabye, rockabye, lullabye loo.
Dishes are waiting and bills are past due
Pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo
The shopping’s not done and there’s nothing for stew
And out in the yard there’s a hullabaloo
But I’m playing Kanga and this is my Roo
Look! Aren’t his eyes the most wonderful hue?
Lullabye, rockaby lullabye loo.
The cleaning and scrubbing can wait till tomorrow
But children grow up as I’ve learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down cobwebs; Dust go to sleep!
I’m rocking my baby and babies don’t keep.

Bottle Free Home!!!

Yep, you read that correctly!!! We have NO MORE BOTTLES!!!! A had her 15 month check-up this past Monday and the doctor said, "Take away the bottles!!", which she told us at her 12 month check-up :-)
So that evening, I tried to rock A to sleep ~ like I have done almost every night for her 15 months of life ~ and that did not go over really well....she was out of her routine and WANTED that bottle. After about 20 mins of listening to her screaming, I caved in and gave her a bottle!!!! Not I (we) wanted to do but my heart was BREAKING for her.
Than come Tuesday night...did our routine ~ blew kisses to daddy and off we went to her room. I sat down in the rocker with her blankie, rubbed her hair & back and off to sleep she went....so Wednesday..the same thing...Thursday...the same thing!!
So think that it is safe to say...my baby no longer takes a bottle!!!!!!
No news is good news....RIGHT????
I hope that everyone has had a wonderful 2011 so far...I see that I have been MIA for a couple of months and I thought that my blog needed alittle update. Well here is the problem, I have no news to share!!!!! So I will do my best and update what has been going on in the Weber home.
Being a stay-at-home mommy & watching other little kiddies is going well. About a couple of weeks ago, I had alittle break down....just trying to juggle life & still keeping a life for myself. When I was working, I had an office (a storage closet) that I shared with 2 amazing other women and we would talk about anything & everything under the sun to now, watching Disney from sun up till sun down and pretty much just hangin with little ones and not having a break.
I hope that this does not sound like I am complaining....because I am NOT, just trying to make sure that this momma still can be "Me ~ Megan" and not just "Mommy"!! But thankfully I have a wonderful hubby who is helping me with that, even if it is just a couple of minutes that I can have to myself!!!
The girls are doing wonderfully!!! M is REALLY keeping us on our toes!!!! If she was not so darn cute the devil horns would really drive me crazy!!! SO we have our daily battles with her and we are trying to stand our ground, it just BLOWS my mind, for how little she is, to where she can really push me over the edge sometimes.....just so stinkin smart & stubborn!!!! SO if you are ever around the Weber home inside or out, you will most likely hear screaming, crying, doors slammin', dogs barking & laughter..and we would not want it any other way!!!!!
I saw a sign that says "Excuse the mess...the children are making MEMORIES!!" and that totally 100% explains my house!!!!
Well I hope that everyone has a wonderful & safe 2011 and the Webers are taking it all in stride and looking forward to what the new year will bring us!!
